Leicester City 2-2 Walsall
21 October 2008

Aleksandar Tunchev stormed away with the man of the match award against Walsall after Tuesday night's 2-2 draw at the Walkers Stadium. Tunchev scored his first goal in City colours and followed it up with a solid display against a physical Walsall attack that included Jabo Ibehre and Michael Ricketts. Andy King made the top three for the second game running with the runners up award, with Kisnorbo's first mark of the season pushing him into the top three.

Matty Fryatt's anonymous performance against his old club won him the controversial Flop of the Match award, with David Martin and Kerrea Gilbert rounding off the bottom three.

In all seriousness I don't understand loyal fans who continue to go when they are clearly hating every minute of it. Not aimed at you in particular Beaumont, just a general observation, but your scores have again triggered the thought.

Surely thinking someone has played badly doesn't mean you hated being at the game. I have watched some awful performances over the years but couldn't think about not going.

It's not 'someone' it's everyone time and time again. I love going and love getting behind the team. I was merely observing what can be described as people jaded by the experience.

I don't think there has been anything wrong with my ratings. Personally I think so far this season for the most part, the performances have been 'average' which imo would merit around the 5 or 6 mark.

For the neutral on Tuesday they would've probably found it a quite entertaining game, but I don't see why I shouldn't be critical of players performances when as far as I can see, they have been below average.

Gilbert was at fault for both goals imo so was marked down, despite linking well with Gradel.
The midfield was for the most part anonymous so was also marked down. The strikeforce wasted good chances so they were marked down.

My man of the match was Tunchev, who was pretty solid but in no way was it a great performance from him.

When players have played very well I've marked them high(well I think so!) I've given 7s and 8s so far this season(I might even have given a 9!!

Lastly, how Andy King gets in the top three I'll never know. I gave him a 5, only cos he scored, he was shit otherwise, three or four times Tuesday Oakley had to bail him out when he fecked up deep in his own half. I also look at his positioning and the fact he never attempted to tackle the bloke who ran from his half to our box and put the ball over to the other one who scored their first goal.

As for not enjoying the game, I'm enjoying this season a lot more than the last one! But again, don't see why I should exaggerate my ratings when, especially this past week, it shows that we have to do a hell of a lot more than we are doing to get out of this league the right way.

I might leave my ratings for today's debacle til tomorrow when I've calmed down over the piss poor attitude from some of our so called 'players'
