Re: Aleksandar Tunchev

Does anyone know who actually spotted/scouted/signed Tunchev?

In that order please ;).

I'd guess at our head scout, Steve Walsh. He probably signed him on FM first and then reccomended him to Nige.

Nah Ted, Milan knows him off facebook, Tunchy IMed him after Milan had tweeted that he had a defender's job up for grabs

Still a long way off a return, more likely towards end of the season than within the next few weeks

I'm given to understand that they have now written off the idea that he will be back this season at all.

:081: Over 250 words to tell us what we largely already know. And after all those words there is only "hope" that he will be back before the end of the season.

Flew out to Barcelona to see the specialist who did his original surgery in the hope he can sort it and play at least some point of this season.

So let me get this straight - he's going back to see the bloke who couldn't fix it in the first place. I don't know whether I would.

At the Meet The Manager I said that I was so impressed by Tunchev I wondered who had managed to get a current Bulgarian international to join a Championship club. Both Nigel and Craig Shakespeare gestured toward Steve Walsh. Nigel then said that "Steve had been monitoring him for some time."

I get the impression that most of the signings begin with Steve Walsh as Head of Recruitment. Presumably there are two scenarios:
(1) Nigel says I need a new goalkeeper quickly because David Martin is injured and Walsh immediately comes up with a list of names.
(2) Steve says I have come across a bright young defender called Michael Morrison who I think we should sign.

Obviously the money side of any transfer will involve Lee Hoos and in some cases Milan.

Why is Steve Walsh suggesting we use a defender as a keeper?

Stuff that

What I want to know is which cocksucker came up with the recommendation that Neilson and McGivern were anywhere near good enough to play Championship level football :091:

It was me! I cannot continue to live a lie!

When did Tunchev join a championship club?

You are quite right; a slip of the keyboard. I have sometimes wondered whether he believed League One was another name for the Premiership.

I remember looking at the Bulgarian team at one point and noticing that four of them played for English clubs - I may misremember here but I think it was Man U, Liverpool, Tottenham in the Prem and Leicester in League One.
