Leicester City Development Squad striker George Hirst has been nominated for September's Premier League 2 Player of the Month award.

The 20-year-old forward, who joined the Club in the summer, has so far netted on three occasions for City's Under-23s in Premier League 2 Division 1.

While his maiden Foxes strike came in August's 2-0 victory at Wolverhampton Wanderers, Hirst also found the net twice in last Saturday's 2-2 draw with Chelsea.

Over the month of September, the England youth international starred in all three of Leicester's league matches, also featuring in the Leasing.com Trophy.

Hirst is one of eight players to be nominated for the award, the winner of which will be announced on Friday 11 October on the Premier League's online channels.

The shortlist was chosen by the Premier League Football Development panel after coaches nominated the best performances by opposing players in each league fixture.
 
No, but he‘s just a little bit older than 23
He was last season as well but still played the odd game for the Under 23’s when he was fit.
