Interesting. If Vardy's appeal was refused I can't see how this one will be allowed.

Perhaps because a fairly good argument could be made that Jones fouled Feghouli and the ref got it completely wrong.

This challenge isn't the same as the Vardy one. Vardy jumped directly towards the Stoke player whereas Feghouli jumped into the ball. Jones was coming in from the side angle, he wasn't directly in front of the lunge.

That being said, I'd be amazed if they rescind the red card as it was clearly a rash challenge. It was harsh but Mike Dean didn't get the fact that it was a foul challenge wrong.

Jones should have been punished too as his challenge was a poor foul and his pathetic reaction following it deserved a caution on its own.

There's nothing in the laws of the game that says both feet of the ground, or being out of control, is a red card offence.
