Not really-this is the first time he has played any kind of football since his latest lay off. At least he hasn't broke down in training alone this time

I wish him a speedy recovery back to full fitness. 18+ months ago he was easily our best player, but we only ever saw him in League 1. He was easily far better than Hobbs, but I wonder if he will be a match for Vitor and Bamba?

If he does get match fit, i think he will be the communicator and organiser Sven is looking for, and our defence needs. However i'd have serious concerns about his mobility now.

Regrettably, I don't think that Tunch will play again, certainly not at this level. I'm more inclined to think that he would take up a coaching role.

Based on what Sven says in that article, it doesn't appear all is lost as some seem to think. Obviously there is more odds of him never playing again then there is, but let us not give up hope just yet!

This reminds me of one of my faves, Scotty Taylor who IIRC got injured for a year then really buggered himself falling down stairs or something - which ended his LCFC career, but then he reappeared with McGready at Wolves for a couple of seasons.

So I agree, never say never.

I take it you are referring to a potential mobility allowance - not sure where Bulgarian nationals stand on this one.

This depends on whether Tunch came here on the condition that he has "no recourse to public funds". If so, he cannot claim most benefits according to this (includes full list of public funds available):
http://www.ukba.homeoffice.gov.uk/while-in-uk/rightsandresponsibilities/publicfunds/

Now, in regards of the mobility allowance, it states in the application that, if told that you have no recourse to public funds, "You cannot make a claim for DLA unless you are living with another family member who is an EEA national."

Presumably though, this doesn't matter as Tunchev is a member of EU so he should not have this "no recourse to public funds" stamp. Can somebody else confirm this?

If Tunch reads this board and wants more information on his rights, I would strongly recommend him to read through this leaflet: http://www.ukba.homeoffice.gov.uk/sitecontent/documents/workingintheuk/livingandworkinga2.pdf
Taken from this brilliantly informative site: http://www.ukba.homeoffice.gov.uk/workingintheuk/eea/bulgariaromania/liveworkuk/

Anyone?! Surely that was far too serious-a-question for this forum!

No, no. It's what we all have been waiting for. We have all been busy wanking ourselves while reading it over and over again.

Painful. Fell awkwardly on a spindle I presume. :)

with them 2 returning, im surprised were going for Bruma (although he is very highly rated - i guess there is no chance of signing him permanently), im guessing Sven will put him straight into the team.

I think tunch is a long way from returning.

He'll probably be injured again soon but IF he could stay fit I reckon Vitor might be a big player for the rest of the season.

I think what Tunch being. A month (potentially) from recovery means is that we needn't worry too much about becoming a squad who's only quality is on loan. We have a smashing chance to sign Yak and Naughton, and the spine of our side is owned. Weala, Bamba, Wellens, King, Gallagher, Dyer, Vassell, Abe. We have very little chance to sign Vitor unless promoted.

If he plays this season not only will I purchase a hat, but I will have a little nibble on it. I believe he's out of contract at the end of the season. It's probably one last throw of the dice to try to get fit and get a new club. Shame, but there you go.
