in fairness lads it's only 6 out of 25 threads that were polls.

Another feather in the cap, this game is always a sell-out. I think with the kick-off time, the Conference South play-off winners v the Conference North play-offs winners is on around 1pm.

great thats a few thousand from tv coverage! and gate reciepts!

I doubt if this will be a great money-spinning venture. The TV and gate money will go into a pool and City will get paid a fee that will be little more than the cost of hosting the match - the rest will go to the clubs involved and to the Conference. City will also make from the concessions in and around the ground.

The main point in putting on this kind of match is the kudos - also known as the "feather-in-the-cap" as already mentioned by Hazzman.

Should be a good occasiom any type of Final is massive especially one to get you into the Football league. I have watched this Final since it's birth a couple of years ago. Always good entertainment and none of the big over-inflated egos seen in the Premiership week in week out.

  Shocking

This is great news for us, not only does it bring in money but the final has a great atmasphere and is a quality event, as an aldershot town fan (as my lower league second team) we wont get to the final but I hope we stage the final for a couple of years so maybe next year I could go:038: :038: :038:

The eyes of the football world in general will be focussed on the Walkers? I don't think so.

When I read on teletext that Tim Davies thinks that this is a "prestigious event", I realise that spin has now been fully spun.

I dont agree Redditch, the Conference play off final has become a popular and exciting final to watch, and rather than the Britannia Stadium being used then why not the Walkers, we complain that the club do not use the stadium to its potential, but then criticise when they secure a televised play off final.

Ay, it usually is, and it has been a decent standard. Whilst it certainly aint a major showpiece, it is a move in the right direction.

I understand all that and it is obviously important to maximise revenue.

However, the match is not a big deal except for the minnows involved - there is far too much televised football already - the Britannia Stadium and Stoke in general are horrible places and its not a triumph to displace them.....but my main point is that if Tim Davies thinks this is a "prestigious event" then he's on a planet that I don't wish to visit!
