I understand all that and it is obviously important to maximise revenue.

However, the match is not a big deal except for the minnows involved - there is far too much televised football already - the Britannia Stadium and Stoke in general are horrible places and its not a triumph to displace them.....but my main point is that if Tim Davies thinks this is a "prestigious event" then he's on a planet that I don't wish to visit!

too be fair after being chosen the host this match i doubt very much that Tim Davies would come out and say we are pleased to host this shitty little insignificant final. wouldnt be very profesional and i believe his comments are simply respectful the national conference.

Quite so - tho' I think that such refreshing honesty would be appreciated in some quarters.....something along the lines of..." Well, we've had full internationals here; the likes of Inter & Celtic but times are hard and competitive in the stadia business with so many new lego sets around now...so this ain't bad, is it."

Remember, this isnt about us. This is about the supporters and teams that are playing in this event. To them, this is prestigious. This is one of the biggest games of their careers, and I for one, would love to be playing in this game. Surely we can't be guilty of crawling up our own arses, things have hardly been rosy around here recently.

For TD to say anything other than what he said would have been disrespectful and patronising to those involved.

There are tens of thousands of people all over the country who are as deperate for their team to get promoted to the Football league as we are to stay in th Championship. It is a f&*&^g massive deal to these guys, and I think TD is rightit is prestigous for all the non-league clubs and fans. It is bloody brilliant that it is being held at the Walkers. don't you lot have anything else to moan about today ?
