134 for 4 after 27.1 overs.

Current projection: 247 runs

MKFox, I still think they'll get around 300 but the 260 projection won't be far off either. (so 280)

Warwickshire finished on 235 for 9 (50 overs)

So the projection of 260 was not bad. MKFox, eat your stetson sunshine!

MADDY OUT FOR A DUCK!!!!

Oh dear, we are now 9 for 2 after 4 overs.

Projected score of 113 runs. :-(

Presumably you're basing your projection on runs per over. But you're not taking into account the wickets. If they continue losing wickets at the same rate they won't even get 50 runs.

I know Webbo, I am basing the projection on the run rate only (as you have correctly presumed).

We are now 20 for 3 after 6.1 overs however so unfortunately your idea for a projection could take precedent and we will be all out for 70 runs.

:-(

Half way through the innings and we have a measely total on 77 for 4 (25 overs).
We'll need about a run a ball if we are to win this one now. I tough task against these bowlers.

They have been scoring at around 6 an over for the last few overs, and the bowlers who have been causing the problems don't have many overs yet, so I wouldn't rule out a Leics win if these batsmen can stay together, as unlikely as it may seem.

2 overs left for him though Webbo, and they'll save them for when we need to start hitting out.

I think we'll end up on about 180 for 9 after 50 overs.

What happens if it starts raining?

Our run rate needed is over 9 now so we can kiss good by to the C&G Trophy this year. :-(

But it wasn't a projection, it was a guess.

I'm no cricket expert Joe but is this one of the poorest county sides we have had. We don't just get beat we get mullered.

If you take a snap shot of the score about half way through the innings then my projections (and they are projections because they use a mathematical equation and therefore are defined as projections by the english mathematical dictionary) are not far off at all:

Firsty said:
134 for 4 after 27.1 overs.

This would have produced the equation of (300/((27*6)+1))*134 = 247

Warwickshire actually ended on 235.

Secondly said:

This would have produced the equation of (300/(25*6))*77 = 154

Leicestershire actually ended on 152

So in hindsight my projections were good. So, in hindsight, up yours.

If you are that confident in the abilities of your formula, then I suggest you take up spread betting. ;-)
