Great game of football.

Couldnt really see Howards tackle and the ref wasnt in much more of a better angle than me, he defiantely reacted to the Watford players and the crowd. Sounds like a deserved Red though.

Spearing was my MOM, he was EVERYWHERE, even with a player missing from our midfield. I knew exactally what to expect when we signed him and he hasnt disspointed me.

How Hobbs has come on since last year is astounding, at this rate he would be pushing to get into Liverpools starting 11 (with the season they are having).

Just 1 more win boys, but lets not get ahead of ourselves.

I have finally seen the highlights of the game and IMO Howard's sending off was a little harsh. I thought it was a yellow card, but a red seemed well over the top.

According to Pearson's post-match comments the lino told him that he told the ref it was worth a yellow card and was surprised when the ref showed a red.

Nice to see the ref ignored the persons opinion who saw the challenge better than him.

I too have finally just seen the highlights and I too think the actual challenge initially wins the ball....however, I can kind-of-understand how it quickly became worthy of a red card: the reaction of Watford players & supporters, right in front of them when tempers were already flared after the previous 10 mins or so, Howard's obvious intent on clattering their fella - winning the ball or not, the referee clearly being useless etc...

You lot are having a laugh. Since when has an over aggressive two footed challenge with both feet off the ground not been an automatic red card? Winning the ball is totally irrelevant as anyone who knows the rules would know. As soon as he did it the showing of a red card was a foregone conclusion. The ref might not have been brilliant but 9 out of ten refs would have done the same.

Correctamundo. You can get sent off for going into a challenge and not touching anyone or anything - if the intent is there and it's obviously reckless, off you go, no matter if you got the ball first or didn't even touch the player.

Them's the rules, people.

Above all. its was just totally unnecessary. Gross error of judgement.
