Skip Calls For United Front
Posted on: Sat 15 Dec 2007
Patrick Kisnorbo has called on the club's fans to stick by the players despite their miserable form on the field.
Saturday's 2-0 defeat at Hull City was their fourth in five Championship matches, leaving the Foxes sitting precariously above the relegation zone ahead of next weekend's televised trip to Midlands rivals Wolves.
However, despite their disappointing form, the Australian international believes him and his team-mates need the Blue Army more than ever.
He said: "Yes, our form has been very disappointing of late and I can totally understand the fans' frustrations.
"I know they are going through a hard time and know they are disappointed but we are certainly disappointed with them.
"The players don't mean to play badly but for whatever reason at the moment things are just not going our way.
"The supporters have always backed us and I hope they will continue to do that because we need them more than ever.
"They should continue to have faith in us and we promise to do our best for them and drag ourselves out of this relegation battle."
Kisnorbo also admitted that a few home truths had been told in the aftermath of the Tigers defeat.
"We were given a bit of a reality check today and Ollie let every individual know what he thought of them after the final whistle," he added.
"Honest is the best policy at this stage of the season and sometimes when players don't play well they need to know that.
"This is such a big club and there is so much expectation on us as players but Ollie needed to tell people their strengths and weaknesses because this sort of form cannot continue. It is no good for anyone.
"We have some good individuals in this squad but football is a team game and if you can't get it right as a team then you are struggling.
"There is a real lack of confidence around the place at the moment and it's a hard time for everyone but over the next few games we must show that we want to be here and want to play for Ollie and Leicester City.
"We must stand up and be counted."
The Foxes travel to Wolves next Saturday evening (5.20pm) and Kisnorbo acknowledges that another loss is not an option.
"We are in a relegation battle and we know that. We are looking over our shoulders and the sooner we put things right the better.
"We must unite and show what we are made of. We have to put on a better display because today's was not acceptable."
