One month loan for Wellens sees him join Ipswich.

From the official Twitter page.

there was a time IMO he was our key player ie if he played well the team played well, if he can recapture some decent form than he will be an adequate back-up player

I think we've moved on. Our midfield at the moment is what we've lacked for a few years. Energetic, Hard working and play the game at pace. I think this would change if Wellens was back in the team. (Who, by the way, i'm a fan of. )

I personally am a little surprised.

I think he's a technically gifted footballer however his age and injuries have caught up with him over the past year or so.

''A new manager needs to come in and put a rocket under them because there are not enough people who show they care about losing a game of football or even their own careers.''

Richie making friends in Suffolk it seems.

I'm friends with an Ipswich fan. He says the fans are delighted with Richie's comments as it's confirmed what they've been thinking is the problem all along. They're very glad someone has come out and said something like that. Even though he's not played particularly well for them, his loan move has been worth it just for these comments apparently.

I find his comments rather comical to be honest.

This concerned chap is the same player who told one of our supporters 'I don't give a ****' when a frustrated fan after a dismal performance simply said that 'it wasn't good enough today eh lads'
Him and Gally then laughed and dangerously floored it out of the petrol station.

Total hypocrite

even if the account of events there is fully accurate, wellens always looks like he cares on the pitch, is combative and always gets stuck in. he always wants to get on the ball, and doesn't hide when things aren't going well. that's more important than a comment he makes to a fan after one game.

he may well be a pr*ck, but i don't think it's fair to accuse him of not caring when he's pulled on a blue shirt. in that sense, i don't think he is a hypocrite.

If a total stranger came up to me in a petrol station and told me that what I'd done at work today "wasn't good enough", I'd probably punch them in the gob. Does that make me a hypocrite?

It would if you then released a statement like Wellens did
