Welsh makes return to Black Cats
Leicester have cut short Andy Welsh's loan spell with the club.

The Sunderland winger had signed on loan with Leicester until the end of the season but he has now returned to the Stadium of Light.

The 23-year-old former Stockport forward spent a two-month spell at the Walkers Stadium at the end of last season, making a total of 10 appeances.

But he then returned to the Stadium of Light and played in the Black Cats' last two Premiership games.

Busy day today then! Cadamateri signs, Porter gets new deal and Welsh sent back to Sunderland.

Wonder if all this activity is anything to do with the takeover? Players getting contracts could show the takeover is close because we had no money to do anything with. But it could show the takeover isn't gonna happen, and Welsh is being sent back so the money spent on his wages can be used for Cadamateri, and presumably Porter's increased wage.

the wages for Porter, and Logan will be low, so i don't think it indicates an influx of cash. Cadamateri is probably on reletively low wages too, the opertunity to rebuild his career here must have been more atactive than Greys Athletic

Yeah, it probably isn't anything to do with the takeover at all, it's just strange how we get 3 bits of news about player contracts in one day when usually we have nothing. Plus I'm bored of reading for my dissertation, and bored of waiting for takeover news, so thinking of conspiracies and reading between lines is more fun ;)

Typical crap reporting from the BBC. "The Sunderland winger had signed on loan with Leicester until the end of the season". No he didn't, he signed until the end of the year - so he's gone back a few days early - if he has really gone back. The date at the top of the report says it was last updated in October - which is when we signed him on loan. :icon_roll

I saw that as well we had him till 31st Dec oh wow hes gone back 3 days early!!! Thats HEADLINE news!!!!:icon_eek:

:038: :038: :038: great day so far Levi signs a new deal Welsh goes back, we signed a player :038: all i want now is AJ and Low to leave!!!!

Are we that poor of a football club? We are a professional football club surely the club makes some kind of profit i dont think one players wages is going to change a lot. Surely we must have some kind of money!!??

I think we are exactly that poor a football club - a club without a penny to spare. And we will continue to be so until something changes.

Welsh was always going back at the end of the year. Keane was interviewed a couple of weeks ago and stated that all his player who were out on loan will be back after Christmas period is over. He wanted them to prove themselves to him or be used as part of trades to get new players in at Sunderland. Think that Welsh loan period this time was a waste of time and he never managed to give anything anywhere near to his previous loan period. Did not appear to want a chance of playing here regular.

I have on very good authority that we will go over our agreed overdraft by the end of February with the bank unless the takeover goes ahead.:icon_sad:

... unless, of course, the bank calls in its loans - in which case we will presumably go back into administration.

And don't forget - we're all in it together!!

Can you tell us where this info came from?

Or is this another unnamed insider. We've had so much "inside info" in the last few months and much of it has turned out to be rubbish.

If the money situation was that serious we'd sell player(s) in January - in fact it wouldn't surprise me if deals have already been made.

Wow, we will go into an over draft, So what is the problem, Most clubs of our size owe tens of millions of pound, What does city owe, very little, I wish people would stop putting city down.

My father is the Accountant of a major shareholder who isn't on the board. I can't say anymore than that. Needless to say it's only his/her word.
