I think he is a good player but too injury prone for the top flight. Levein likes him though.

Craig Levein has confirmed Dundee United have first refusal on James Wesolowski and will open talks with Leicester next month.
The 21-year-old, who has two years remaining on his contract at the Walkers Stadium, joined the Tangerines from Levein's former club in January and improved his match fitness with a string of solid performances.

A hamstring tear has cut short his stay with United but Levein hopes to speak to his former employers next month to see if a return deal can be done.

Levein revealed to the Press & Journal: "Considering James wasn't fit and had been out for so long with injury I think he did a really good job for us.

"His fitness gradually got better and he was having more influence on games. Hopefully, we'll see him back again next season if we can do a deal with Leicester.

"We've got an option on him, so I'll speak to his club and see what happens from there."

They can have him, aside from being really good at injuries i'm not really sure where his talent as a footballer lies.

yep, get rid, take whatever they offer us IMO :Icon_lol:

David Goodwillie? imagine that would be popular with some....

Can't imagine Dundee United have much they can offer any team in the second tier of English football

so they'd offer us jack shit..... that sounds good enough to me.

Yet another player getting stick for doing nothing wrong.

This bloke has suffered horribly from injuries, at least in part because he has a very physical, whole hearted approach.

While I agree that he probably can't help us anymore I think we can send him on his way and thank him for the years of service.

Warming up the physio table is hardly service, but I agree he doesnt deserve criticsm. He has shown potential but injuries mean that is all he has shown us.

Good luck to him and I hope he can stay injury free and start to build a career.

People should read back to what was being said about him in these parts three years ago before the first of his devastating injuries.

Bloody fickle...

Let him go. Waste of time someone who gets as many injuries as him will never make it big.

Not a bad player on his day, but when is the last time he had a real good game, or when did he last play.

I feel sorry for him and his injuries but ah well.

can't see how anything that's been said is really giving him stick? injury prone, not particularly fantastic when fit....

You can't say he hasn't had a fair chance when he's been fit. 46 apps isn't a bad haul considering his problems.

I don't think was ever at 100% when playing for us since the Brighton game where he broke his leg for the second time. He was saying in an interview some time after he came back he was still suffering pain when playing. Maybe it's getting better now.

But he did suffer from massive hyping up from some on here and elsewhere. Mainly, it seemed, from performances in academy and reserve matches. Perhaps he could have been a great player - it's hard to tell from such reviews and reviewers, even though the Australian team were looking to select him at one point - but in the end he never really delivered for us.

First time i saw him was those few minutes against Celtic when Balde did his leg. He looked exactly the sort of player we subsequently needed for 2or 3 years. Could have been Leveins key player and whenever i think of Weso i always wonder how different that season might have been but for that awful challenge.
