Westerby Cup Team Named

Leicester City will put out a young side for Tuesday night's Westerby Cup semi-final clash.

Peter Canero is the only player over 21 to feature for the Foxes against Oadby Town.

There will be plenty of strike power on show however with Tommy Wright, Chris O'Grady and free-scoring Louis Dodds heading the City attack. With the added free kick threat of captain Alan Sheehan, City are certainly looking for the win to advance to the final.

The match at Holmes Park kicks off at 7pm.

CITY: Conrad Logan, Liam Norvall, Peter Canero, Adam Wykes, Scott Lycett, Alan Sheehan (capt.), Ricky Muggleton, Louis Dodds, Chris O'Grady, Tommy Wright, Levi Porter
Subs: Matt Goodwin, Billy McKay, Ashley Chambers, Tyson Payne

And the ritual humiliation of Peter Canero continues.........

Can someone explain to the less educated among us what the westerby cup is and what match is being played tonight??

The Westerby Cup is a county wide cup competition which enables our teams to be entered into the FA Cup each year. The match tonight is the Semi-Final

Cool and is it at oadby tonight?? How much are tickets etc, and where is holmes park?

I went to school with somebody with the surname of Westerby...one of those kids who sat on his own at the back of the class, eating flies and sh1tting himself regularly...brings back far too many bad memories...

Anyone know what the problem with Peter Canero has been? I was very hopeful that he could be a good player for us from the small amount I saw of him but it seems that something has gone wrong because neither Micky or Craig have seemed keen to use him. I know he was injured for quite a while and seemed to have put on quite a bit of weight but he seems to be third in line behind Maybury and Stearman and that would move to fourth if Kenton does get signed on a full transfer. Do you think he would be used further forward if Gillespie was out? It seems a shame but it looks like he is on his way out.

Westerby Cup Victory For City

A young Leicester City team advanced to the semi-finals of the Westerby Cup on Tuesday evening, beating Hinckley United 3-2.

Goals from Ricky Muggleton and a brace from Louis Dodds saw the Foxes through in a keenly fought match at Middlefield Lane.

The home side have enjoyed a successful season so far, reaching the second round proper of the FA Cup, but could not overcome a spirited City line-up packed with Academy talent.

Get Dodds in the first team.

 ;-)

What happened in tonight's match?

I thought you were trying to make a point about the OS being slow with the news!

Nothing so clever, just my own stupidity.  ;-)
