That was a piss poor excuse for a football match I have seen in a long while. I dont think we could have scored if we were playing for 10 days, we never looked like scoring and to make matters worse they all looked as if they could not give a toss.
Stearman was toss, most probably the worst player on the field. It was mentioned that maybe he is being lined up to be sold, in that case it looks like they were all up to be sold soon.
AJ IMO made a fine debut but nothing to get rigid about, DTand GW played some good football with Williams comeing the closest to scoring.

I am not looking forward to the Burnley match, but something drastic has to change. Bottom of the feckin league already.....

What was concerning, was that they should have got a rollicking at half time and yet second half there was no sign of improvement and little sign of upping the tempo. So it was either that Kelly didnt hand out the hairdryer treatment or it had no effect.

I hope Kelly can sort it out because today's performance has left a very sour taste.

Truth is we seem to have an unnerving habit of playing crap negative football but still lose.

I agree BG, I wish we could but when you look at the teams we traditionally lose to they are the Burnelys of this leauge. When these teams come and shut up shop we always seem to be unable to break them down. Then around 60 mins or so the crowd get on the players backs - the players panic into mistakes, the opposition get a break away goal and thats it were back to trying to break them down and we can't.

Its going to be all the more difficult this year as we have poor crossing options from Maybury and Tiatto.

My point is not that Burnley shouldn't play that style of football - its just that we always seem to fail to break it down.

The reason we can't break those teams down is that we're just not that good. I'm not being pessimistic, I'm not too worried about one performance, and I think that if we got a run together then we could do OK. But being realistic it's the fact that we've not had a very good team that's behind our inabilityy to break teams down rather than any tactical mysteries.
