Have a look over some of the previous caption competitions and you may just find the answer 
Last season, Scowie was lazy and could not be bothered and I felt the same, but I think scowie has done well this season and though i thought i would never say it. Scowie deserves to be in the team.
But, we all know ma does not select player on ability or contribution therefore I doubt any of us could understand ma's reasoning

He scored more goals than Connolly and Dublin put together so far this season, and hasn't even been playing as a sriker!
