When is 'next weekend'?

Was gonna do a poll but **** nos how you do them. Had a debate in the office today as to when next weekend is with conflicting reasons so wondered what the general consensus/correct answer was as I know there are a lot on here who like this shit too.

So nice and simple, would 'next weekend' be the 18th & 19th or 24th & 25th and why?

18th and 19th, seems obvious to me. It's the "next" weekend.

For me, Monday is the start of the week. Therefore 17/18th will be this weekend, and 24/25th will be next weekend.

Likewise, if on a Friday you ask what's happening next Thursday, that means in 6 days (not 13).

Personally I class next weekend as 17/18th (or 18/19th as I originally incorrectly said) as that is the next weekend.

This weekend isn't the one just gone though, that's definitely last weekend.

Yep. In the first example, "next" is the one after 'the next', whereas in the second, "next" is 'the next'.

No, what I'm saying is that whenever you're talking about days, it's whether they fall in this week (Mon-Sun) or next week.

Ok, I should have said "additionally".
