If you could choose one player from the Leicester City past to come and play for us now as though still in his prime, who would it be & why?

Matt Elliot - I feel we need somebody with a passion for the club and leadership skills on the pitch. Somebody to steer the ship when the manager hands over the wheel on matchday

I would love to say Lineker and last season I would have done, but strikers for me are OK now.

Matt Elliot for me. With Taggs and Walshie close behind

lee marshall, his midfield flair and technique were a joy to behold, where have players like that gone :(

Neil Lennon, in a similar vein to Matty Elliott, we need someone to run the team from the centre of the park. I hope paddy mac will be albe to do it next season but I feel he is a little young for it yet.

A decent Right Winger in the Lynex mode,a decent left winger in the Guppy mode and most importantly a ball winning midfielder in the Mauchlen mode.

Walshie (unless Fryatt was injured in which case it would be Sir Gary).

Leadership, heart and more talented up front than Matty Elliott if we were desperate. Although I wouldn't be too confident of finishing with 10 men with Walshy and Paddy Mac in the back 4.

When I saw the title of this thread I straight away thought of Guppy but good old Highland beat me to it so I am gong to now say Steve Claridge as he could be relied upon to be a match winner.

Would have to be Elliott for me, solid at the back and scores goals from set pieces. Something we've been lacking in recent years.

Never liked/rated Guppy. Good crosser, always pulled out of tackles though, I think he only ever needed to wash his shorts once. For me it would have to Walshie, or maybe even Cottee?

I agree with Glyn, Walsh was the best player i have seen for Leicester in terms of Leadership & the way he played was just what football should be. He could control the defence & was a solid wall in City's defence when he played. He was good upfront if we were playing a long ball game too!

:023: spot on for me. Defence and attack look OK, but the midfield is a bit of a shambles.
