I can forgive McGivern, as a youngster at Man City's youth team he probally looked decent at that level.
He looks alright at international level too. Maybe the problem there is people were expecting a young Ashley Cole to turn up and they immediately got on his back for his first misplaced pass and destroyed his confidence.

Just a possibilty, like.

The club owes us big time and this appointment is a massive slap in the face, I supported the club with £450 season ticket on the promise that we would get a succesful replacement to Holloway (who actually had a better record at Leicester than Pearson had at Southampton) and we get a total clown. I want my money back.

Just found this on the old Pearson thread :081: :081: :081:

To be honest, no-body, even Cole, could be expected to be adequate replacent for Bruno 'Chuck Norris' Berner

The old John Maynard Keynes question still interests me. Accused of changing his mind he said "When the facts change I change my mind what do you do sir."

New fact: Two managers given a pre-season are in the top six of the same division. Any neutral would say that both managers have done a brilliant job.
The answer to Keynes question:
When the facts change those who doubted Nigel Pearson admit they were wrong.
When the facts change those who doubted Ian Holloway wish the facts would go away.

We get the same comments about Holloways lack of ability - useless, a clown, a twat - that we got before he did so brilliantly at Blackpool. The facts have changed.

Yes, but why let the facts get in the way of a good slagging? :081:

No they don't. He was just out of his depth here and didn't have a clue how to change things.

Maybe he's learned from all that, he certainly doesn't come across as such a 'wacky' guy in post match interviews nowadays.

Blame can be laid at many feet- Allen for being tapped in the head and bringing DJ Campbell here for a ludicrious amount of wages, Megson for being a twat, MM for being too quick/too slow to act at certain times throughout the season, the players who looked defeated long before the season ended, BUT with over 6 months of a season to make us progress rather than stagnate only for us to see the team go backwards......well ultimately that is down to Holloway who was in charge of that team. The players didn't respect him by the end and perhaps MAYBE if MM hadn't been swayed by what reaction there would've been by losing a third manager in a season and got rid of Holloway before even the Sheff Weds game, we might well have stayed up. The last two games his team selections were utterly baffling and certainly didn't help our cause in that final week of the season.

Anyhoo, I already said I didn't like the twat when he came here so my opinion of him NEVER changed at all!
