Who gets the job if we go down?

Been a long time reader on this board but this is my first post.

I see lots of people talking about possible candidates for the manager's job and I think most of us are aiming for a manger who is "too good" for a lower Championship club. The likes of Coleman, Hoddle, Keegan etc would only really come to us to use Mandaric's resources and turn us into a Premiership club.

But if the worst happens and we go down, I can't see too many of these managers being interested. Who are the likely candidates then? In some weird way I think it makes Worthington a more likely candidate for the job fulltime - because he wouldn't say no.

Thoughts?

I think it makes Ince an even more likely candidate.

I was disappointed in NW's appointment TBH, and was amazed yesterday at his decision to take Fryatt off. But, after hearing his interview yesterday, I am a little happier at him being our manager. If we go down, and it's a big if, I think Wortho will continue with the club, and TBH, I won't be too disappointed if he does.

I like his attitude, let's hope he can make them as fit as he needs to over the next few days, if he can't, let's hope he can alter their style of play to suit their fitness.

I did forget about Ince and I think he has a good chance of being our next boss.

I'm certainly not saying that Worthington is a bad appointment, although I wouldn't go as far as saying it is good. He just doesn't excite me in any way.

The point of my original post was to highlight the peculiar situation Worthington is in: his best chance of being manager is probably if we go down but make a fight of it and it is not deemed his fault. If we stay up, I think we can and will appoint a bigger name manager.

I firmly believe the future looks very promising, and I hope to be a big part of it :icon_wink

We just need to sort this little mess out first, find out "where we are" and then move forward

good man agree 100% the future is bright. I was walking away from the ground yesterday and if mm wasnt here it would of been very depressing but knowing he is here makes the difference completly we all know he has only bought us for the prem and thats enough for me
