Re: Whos going Glasgow/Scotland
Firhill is about 10 minutes on foot to Glasgow City Centre and by far the closest of the 4 stadiums in the city to the ground, about 1 minute to the centre by car. Car wise it is just barely a minutes drive once off the m8 motorway. (can't exactly remember the junction number, but just by office world which you cannot miss) then as soon as you come off the motorway the city centre is in sight to your left, but take a right and keep following the road straight down to the set of traffic lights and then you can park your car basically anywhere on the main road up from there and basically just walk up that road as if you are coming away from the city centre and you'll eventually see the floodlights. Do not by any means park your car in a secluded area, as the area around Firhill is pretty rough, and there has been break ins before, but never on the main road, only in side streets.
For nightclubs the City Centre is clearly the best, but the west end, barely a 10-15 walk away
has some good restaurants and pubs as well, particularly Byres Road. However I would definetly take a taxi if going there, in case you get lost and end up in one of the surrounding housing estates, which house a fair amount of scum, maybe even some of the xenophobic variety so a taxi is definetly reccomended and they are in plentiful supply in the main road adjacent from Firhill (Maryhill Road). You can also get the subway to the west end, but by the time you have gotten to the nearest one (Kelvinbridge) you'd already be there via taxi, and almost there if you walked.
Around the ground there isn't much. A few boozers, but not they ain't the greatest, theres a supporters bar in the main stand, ain't sure if it will be open though with it being a midweek friendly.
Killie is rubbish, btw. An oversized hick town if I ever saw one. :icon_bigg
