This is from the website acclaimedmusic.net that takes all the critics lists from around the world and makes a list of the most acclaimed acts, songs and albums of all-time according to the critics. Here is the top 20 most acclaimed acts. Wondered who you all agree with the critics the most on

im guessing from your list thats the order (hence the Beatles rightly heading it ;)) if so im surprised that Nirvana are more critically acclaimed then Radiohead

Yeah, it is in order. I too am surprised Nirvana are more critically acclaimed than Radiohead, although I'm pretty sure they weren't before the last site update.

I find it very amusing that bands like Nirvana and Radiohead could be recieving votes putting them in a higher bracket of acclaim than The Beatles.

Very bizzare behaviour, very bizarre indeed. Oh well, personal tastes and all that shit.

Pile of shit, wouldn't vote for any of them.

Yea and where the ****s oasis

Well, even though i can't stand the feckers, it would have something to do with the fact they are only critically acclaimed in the UK and have never really made it outside this country, wheras all those artists listed are/were big all over the world

Noel gallagher is easily as much of a music genius as any of them in my opinion, fair enough liam might be a twat!

If you count musical genius as stealing other people's work then yes, he's the master

Hence Joy Division's exclusion

I decided to be scientific about it and vote for the one I listen to the most, according to my charts on Last.fm.

These are the places in my chart for the artists listed:

37 REM
47 Stevie Wonder
49 David Bowie
54 Velvet Underground
79 The Clash
96 Radiohead
96 The Rolling Stones
112 Marvin Gaye
131 Bob Dylan
131 Neil Young
231 The Beatles
279 Elvis Presley

Why is it bizarre ? Radiohead have inspired a good few bands who are about today and they quote Radiohead has an influence.Must a band be from the Sixties etc to gain acclaim?
I can't believe The Jam aren't on there

If it was British bands, The Jam would probably be no.1. I think they are one of the only bands to 'hit the nail' on the head when it came to being a voice of youth.

4 out of the top 5 are British......:icon_roll

I saw the Jam live several times, but they were no where near as good as say Led Zep or the Who.

and before you say it I like the Jam

In your opinion...In my opnion Led Zeppelin are dull...very very dull

Out of that list, it would have to be the Clash for me, without a doubt.

It's a load of old music journo wank though, in fairness.
