Tell me what you think and why. I am gonna go for Italy because i just can't see anyone scoring any past nesta, Cannavarro and buffon. I also think with Totti and Del Piero playing well for the first time in 3 years that they will have the creativity.

Outside bet has to be Czcech Republic becaus Nedved is just too good for words right now and Milan Baros has an unbelievalable international scoring record. Oh and England have a good chance because we have a brilliant midfield and solid defense.

I think Portugal may do it. Host nations usually do well in competitions with the support and backing and this may swing it their way. Especially with players such as Rui Costa, Figo, Pauleta etc.

Italy and France are also in with a great chance. Italy will be as solid as usual and if they get in front, then there's not much chance in catching them.

England? You never know - We always seem to play better against the big sides. However, as said in the other thread, I think this tournament will be a step too far. I would love to be proved wrong!

Spain have some of my favorite attcking playuers but they have a rubbish defense. But any team with players like De Pedro, Raul, Xavi, Reyes, Joaquin,Vicente, Xabi Alonso and Baraja have got to have a chance of winning.

Totally agree Muzzy...

The Czechs breezed through qualifying, they've got the greatest midfielder (If not player) in the world in Pavel Nedved, and they can even get the best out of Baros and Smicer...

Nah... changed my mind... has to be Switzerland 8) 8)

Well... A man can dream...

I seriusly think England will win it ...I know they dont have a truley world class squad like France or Italy but England seem to put things together and battle well....

16 to 1 on that at the moment you know
I'll put something on 'em, but really I think it'll be between Italy and ourselves......with their squeaky defence shading it!

All other countries will look at our squad and think we have a world class squad just like we think the Spanish, Italians, French, etc have. I honestly think it's too close to call who will win it, it should be a fcukin brilliant tournament one of the best in recent years. I don't think France will win it, their time has passed. Italy have a ever present squad, but I just never get scared by them. Portugal are good, but not that good really are they?? Spain have got a lethal squad, it scares me but they are under-achievers. They are the equivalent of the millenium dome jaw-dropping but fcukin shit.

England are solid through and through and by this time next summer there will be another starlet that has been gripping the nation so I think we will do well. Rooney is getting better and better, Gerrard is phenomenal in an england shirt. Beckham is invaluable as is Michael Owen and words cannot express how good he really is. Our defence is looking sharper than the world cup and Paul Scholes is looking more potent. If he can start scoring for us again were almost there boys.

Nedved is good, but fcuk the Czechs, lads please. Ava word.

I actually think Spain are pants now - their squad has too many players fighting for the same positions. They'll do nothing. Italy/England/Portugal/Germany - that's the top four nations at the Champs.....say what you will about the Germans, but they'll be there, you just know they will.

You can't discount the Portugese though. Being at home will play a significant part in there quest for the title.

16-1 for the Czechs? May put some money on that......... :D

Prtugal Have'nt got the defense. I think Spain could bring it together if some of their players turened it on. Imajine having De Pedron and Joaquin on the wings with Valeron in behind Raul and Vicente upfront. Then have Xabi Alonso sittin there passing the ball around for fun. They could then have curro Torres right back, helguera and Puyol in the centre with sergi playing left back. Casillias in goal and there you have a genuine quality team. But they don't seem to be turning it on.

Nedeved and Rosicy remeber for Czeck's. I don't fancy defending against that.

You say don't right off the Germans but I am going to because they have some awful footballers and a rubbish defense. One world class player in Michael Ballack and no goal scorers.

Who do you guys think will be the stars of tournament. I think it will be De Pedro, Nedved, Pires, Rui Costa, Van Der Vaart, Gerrard, Totti, Del Piero and Gianluigi Buffon. With the over all star being Rui Costa.

The Germans were said to be shit before the last World Cup and where did they finish? They will be in the semis, I think, with Portugal, France and England.

Can't look past Italy realistically. Italian football back on the way up and they have quality players in every area of the park.

England - worried about defending and goal scoring
Italy - see above
France - past their prime
Czech Republic - not enough quality throughout the team
Spain - never seem to do it in top competitions
Portugal - can't seem to make transition from U21 to full side
Germany - see Czech Republic
Holland - heads up backsides - all the quality no mentality
Turkey - less said the better - Come on Latvia
Other - 250/1 the rags

Spain have got two of the best young strikers in the world Paulo Torress and Reyes, they should walk any game against any team in the world but they won't coz lifes a bitch which is lucky for everyone else. England need abit more panache, some unpredictability in their style is needed to mess a few teams up. We are too predictable, but we are solid and we will do well next summer but there needs to be some variety in our stuff. Our strikeforce is weak - Owen is truely world class but can't do everything. Rooney has so much potential he will probably be on the pop idol panel soon, but Owen and Rooney together upfront won't really work. Heskey is not up to it, never has and never will. He just doesn;t score enough and thats ok if your blessed with goals from every other angle in your team but england aren't!!! We need a proper centre forward someone in the mould of Alan Shearer/Ruud Van Nistelrooy who can team up well with Owen and bang goals in regularly.

It is Fernando Torres and he has yet to produce anything. Reyes is much the same in that we are all told that he is going to be on eof the best players in the world but the evidence is sadly lacking. I would be more scared of wing pare Joaquin and Vicente that 2 maybe players. Wayne Rooney just as good if not better than both of them. I think Reyes will make it but I don't think we should all be shivering with fear about him. I don't see why we need a big man. If we play the ball on the ground Rooney is more than capable of holding the ball up.
