We have been having loads of problems with a newly introduced newsletter tool that our web provider supplies. One of my colleagues asked why we needed that tool at all and why we couldn't do it manulally ourselves. I'm trying to provide a list of reasons why not. can anybody add anything to the following? Thanks.
- Bulk eMail sent in this way is more likely to be identified as 'spam' resulting in our domain name being blacklisted.
- Unless we operate our own mail-server which is on 24/7 we cannot specify when emails will be sent without somebody physically sending them at the time required.
- Management of unsubscriptions and 'bounces' would no longer be automatic meaning a bigger workload for the newsletter administrator.
- As all eMails would be sent out using a conventional internet connection this would result in increased bandwidth for the person sending the messages. If on a 'capped' service this would result in additional charges from the ISP.
