I have been keeping my eye on Wigan all season `cos I seriously rate them as one of the best in this division. Only reason they haven´t amassed more points is because they have been
focussed on other competitions. This will be a stern test of our mettle.

although they were not good at bolton on saturday and their forum seemed to indicate that they may be running out of steam

They are good but so are we. They have a load of big game performers. Will they rest some with the FA cup in mind? Will be be able to raise our game after the excellent performance at Burnley? Wigan to win it 2-1.

The question I have is, if we get 28,674 injuries against Wigan, can we still fail to make the play-offs? Also, where is Hossein Kaebi?

Presumably Wood will start instead of Vardy.

When Vardy came off I showed my usual ability to misread a game by growling that I did not rate Wood at all. If he plays as well against Wigan as he did against Burnley it will gives a selection problem. Nigel has shown that if you lose your place through your own fault (Konchesky) or not (Moore) you cannot be sure of getting it back.

When Wood first came he showed he had talent. He then spent about a year being rather mediocre. It seems he has been carrying an injury and that he has been given advice from Kevin Phillips. If picked Wood's performance against Wigan will be very interesting.
