For Webbo or any other TB Stattos: If we sell out our 5000 allocation for Monday, will this be a City record for an ordinary league away game, as opposed to Cup matches etc. Have we ever taken 5000 to Old Trafford?

i remember going to a Leicester vs Blackburn Rovers match in 1992 (?), and there was easily 7,000 city fans.

Dunno about OT, but we've definitely taken more than 5,000 to other league games - usually when there's something important riding on the match though.
The last time I can remember taking that many was when we played against Charlton at Upton Park. It was their record gate for the time they played there, they had to open up an extra stand because there were so many of us. We could have got promoted if things had gone our way in that match, but we ended up losing and in the play-offs.

I was at that match and I don't think we took as many as 7,000, although there was a good away following that day. That was the away match prior to the Charlton match I mentioned in my previous post.

My family remembers that game against Blackburn very well, mostly because my Uncle always needed a piss. Wasnt 10k City fans predict at Orient for a Second Division Championship cruncher.

I would be suprised if we have had 5k tickets before at the likes of Sheff Wed with their massive Leppings Lane stand.

Did you pay to get in?

I remember there was a big queue outside the ground, and they closed the turnstiles for the terrace as it was full, so those of us left outside had to go in the seats instead.
The seats were much more expensive and a lot of people couldn't (or didn't want to) pay that much. A lot of fans jumped over the turnstiles, so I'm sure there were a lot more people in the ground than the official attendance of 15537.
I don't know how many were officially from Leicester, but it must have been around 10,000. Prior to that game their average attendance that season had been around 6,000.

oh aye we paid to get in we were behind the goal (the one where gary mills missed his pen) like you say we must have taken 10,000 was that game 91/92 or 92/93

April 1992. If we hadn't lost that game and the one at home to Newcastle the following week, we would have been automatically promoted and wouldn't have had the chjance to hate Speedie.
