incidentally, the bananas and monkey noises are based on two fallacies:-

1) that black people are more related to monkeys than white people

they're not. their skin is dark like african primates, but that's generally a good thing in africa

they do eat bananas, when we give them bananas; but wild bananas are pathetic little things. the bananas we all eat (the Cavendish variety) are completely man made, in fact genetically, there's only one plant

I would suggest that there's plenty the fans can do. Whether they will, or whether they will want to, is a different matter.
