Its really no different, you don't have to use the start menu all that often if you don't want to.
You do if you are teaching kids who are used to it. Why make it more difficult to do anything though?

Its just different. Initially I was thinking the same as you but within a few days I'd got used to it and its no more difficult or long winded than Windows 7.
UI paradigms exist because they work. Metro just isn't suited to a PC
In my opinion it is. Its perfectly intuitive once youve banished the previous structure of Windows from your mind. Id liken it to using a mac, at first things arent as you remember from years of Windows but it doesnt take long to realise its just different and perfectly intuitive.
Not for me, couldn't get on with it at all. It all just seems counter-intuitive to me. As I said, I could see how it would work if you were using a tablet or a phone, but not on a laptop or desktop
Win 2k?Windows 98SE - Good
Windows ME - Shit
Windows XP - Good
Windows Vista - Shit
Windows 7 - Good
Windows 8 - ?
There's a bit of a pattern here.
Win 2k?
Without a doubt.Best of the lot in my opinion.
