What is the quickest and easiest way of wiping a win 98 comp if Im going to dump it?

It was serious suggestion and one that is well practised in this situation. It is the only way to safely protect anything you don't wish to be viewed

i watched a programme on TV a few weeks ago.
They went to Lagos in Nigeria, where most of our dumped PCs go and brought 5 or 6 harddrives, they then took them back to the UK and looked at them.

They traced peoples bank details, family history everything! it was shocking and people are doing this all the time.

They said the only way to delete this info is to smash it and then dump it or to take it to a charity/business that deals with second hand computers who will wipe the harddrive for you

Oh and my laptop broke but i kept the harddrive! and then i brought a harddrive caddy USB thing for a few quid and use my old harddrive as extra memory.

Just select everything and press "delete", guaranteed to clear it! then send me your drive

I didn't see that program but I heard about insecurity there is about leaving the drives intact. Even when wiped clean a good hacker would be able to convert the memory codes which are something like 111000111 that are 0000000 and a tiny trace of the original would be seen.
One person was called up and told his bank number how many kids he had and his dogs name.
