I've had no Problems using Linksys routers. Fairly easy to set up, and if the Internet ever goes off, just unplug for 10 seconds and plug it back in.

The internet going off is one of the problems im trying to get away from!! But the linksys stuff does look good.

I also have one of these routers, I managed to salvage it after my house burnt down and it still works flawlessly.

Don't get me wrong, the Internet does go off with it, but it's something that's happened to me about twice in the last 12 months. It's never really been a problem for me.
I have a Linksys and a Netgear. The Linksys is much better at keeping connected. Might depend on the model though.

The Netgear one came 'free' when we changed ISP. We stopped using it when the connection kept dropping and my old Linksys one proved to be more reliable.

Ive installed about 7 of those Netgears now and not one has had any issues. I'd go for one of those personally.

And for the laptop a PCI card or usb??
EDIT: Ive had both in the past and don't really have a preference either way.

either, cards tend to get in the way less but are usually a bit dearer.
