Back on the topic...and I'll only comment the once because it is extremely gutting! I thought that we played very well but for the fact that we have become specialists at sitting back and inviting teams to score. Sometimes I almost feel that if we are going to ever get a 1-0 win City will have to score in the 92nd minute of 3 minutes ET...it really is a shocking thing to do, and you would think that by now the lessons would have been learned!!!
Connolly was extremely unlucky, and aside from the goal and penalty that should have been, his late attempted chip of the Wolves goalkeeper was sooo close to being a magnificent goal. Well done Connolly, potentially that should have been a hatrick(lets not kick the feller when hes down!)
The Kop were amazing, and I left the Walkers with a sore throat and red hands for the first time in ages. As fans we got that Maybury goal with our encouragement and it is clear that the players really appreciated our support...Lets keep it up!!
I don't know why we brought Moore to the club if he was only going to ever get two minutes to prove himself. No disrespect to DeVries but he looked knackered and was quite slow by the end of the match. Moore should have been brought on with 20 minutes to go (or even the other way around, i.e. Moore should have started with DeVries coming on for the last 20 minutes). Also interestingly, the only flick on I remember DeVries winning was just after Connolly had been subbed! Oh well!!!
Great fans, good team fighting spirit, Crap Referee, unfortunate Capitulation at the end, and what I would describe as pretty poor substitutions (sorry Craig, but its true)....at least it was interesting! Yet I still feel nothing clear cut was actually created!
