Surprised we only picked four specialist batsmen with Allenby and Nixon today, the OD game is about batsmen more than anything. I was amazed we got 280 tbh but Taylor does seem to be coming on, at a rate of knots

I think even dyed in the wool miseries like me recognised that there has been a bit more resillience in the last couple of weeks - so perhaps this one was coming.

We did let him go, and brought him back at the start of the season. Shocking really, he's never done anything in the changes he's had to suggest he can make it.

The tactics worked today though as we shared the seam bowling around and the two spinners did their job. I agree though, I much prefer having 6 batsmen + Nixon,much as Nixon can do a job (and in onedayers I think it's harsh not to put Allenby in with the specialist batsmen)

Excellent win, but the bowling attack won't sustain us very far unfortunately in the one day games to come.

If you set the opposition a target of nearer 6 than 5 an over in a 50 over game then you give yourself a decent chance unless at least one of their batters has a field day.

On the bowling - generally it helps to take the pace off the ball in a limited over game and whilst neither of our slow bowlers are likely to cause devastation, they are both fairly seasoned characters and campaigners.

I smacked 60 odd at your place and he was getting the right hump cus evertime he moved the field i slogged it to where he'd just taken the fielder from.
