Just got my Betfred contract and despite it being £1700 a year less than I was told I was getting,there are no set hours for my working week despite me being tolsd I would be doing a 40 hour week.Needdless to say I won't be signing it

You don't have to sign a contract to be bound by it. If you work to its terms, you will be deemed to have accepted it. You should bring these matters up with your new employers immediately and ask for a new contract to be issued which reflect the terms of your verbal agreement.
