I Hope he does does sign him and say 25k a week be fine. his scoring ratio is brilliant. 10 in 19 could be 25 a season. although he seems a bit lazy at times he is quality for this this division and our club.

Dissapointing. I was hoping for a bigger name. Bernard Cribbins maybe.

I welcome this statement from Yakubu. I also voted him player of the year.

However I can't help feeling that this is the exact same interview I would give if I were 33 years old passing myself off as 28.

Therefore I'm positive about signing him with a nagging thought that he'll sign for three years and spend two of them injured.

Of course, all Nigerian footballers are older than they claim. Celestine Babayaro was actually 62 when he signed for Chelsea as an 18 year old. By the time he retired he was 75.

I've been meaning to bring this up. Since Yakubu joined us on loan, I've heard several snide comments about his age. Are there any basis to these rumours or is it just, as it sometimes sounds, racist?

I demand to see the long form of his birth certificate
