£430k for the year long loan.

£7.7m to make move permanent if he plays 25 matches this season (not clear if that's starts/league games or what).

I've never seen him play. So I'll withhold judgement.

Some clarification on the above.

The compulsory element only comes into play if we get promoted. It's an option to buy at a lower price if we don't.

That makes this a much better deal in my view.

Presumably the compulsory element is still contingent on the appearance total being met?

If he’s playing games, hopefully it means he’s doing the business , surely ?
I was just interested in the terms of the deal, really.

Obviously if he plays 25+ games and we go up it would be a reasonable assumption that’s he’s done ok. If we go up and he’s only played 5 games, we might not be so keen.

Not a great first display.

No but criticism of him today is a bit much.

We've added three wingers in Akgun, Fatawu and Mavididi. All three will blow hot and cold because that's the nature of mediocre wingers. If they were anything special, they wouldn't have joined a Championship club.

Signing a Mahrez in the Championship is a one in a thousand result. No doubt that Akgun will have better days but we can't expect too much of him or any of them.

That doesn't mean it's unfair to criticise his performance. It was horrible. He couldn't do the simplest of things well enough. Fatawu was much, much better.

It's okay to say it how it is. Nobody is writing him off.

Yet.

And he may have been massively nervous because it was his debut. He has been bought in for a reason, maybe we just haven’t seen it yet.

True.

It still doesn't mean his performance can't be criticised. Like I say, it was horrible.

If he’d been MOTM, the usual suspects would have been going on about “Tete” and how “it’s too early to judge on one good performance”. The same applies to his very average performance today.
