A quick Google search has revealed that it's due to a problem with AOL's proxy servers.

AOL is a decent ISP, but their software is crap. You don't have to use their software though, I've always recommended that AOL users use a proper browser instead of the AOL one.
If you use a non AOL browser it doesn't send the data through their proxy servers. You might find using Internet Explorer instead fixes the problem, if not downloading Firefox or Opera should do the job.

You think you have firefox? :icon_conf

Which browser are you using at the moment?

I don't bother with the Computer.I know how to switch it on and can just about manage to connect to the Internet, other than that I have no knowledge of Computers, maybe I'm just thick or ignorant or both I don't know.I'm not on Internet Explorer I do know that.

What does it say at the very top of your browser window?

Or if it doesn't say anything, click on help, then about. What does it say there?

You're using the AOL browser then.

Click on start, then see if you have internet explorer or firefox listed, and run one of them instead. If it's not on your start menu it might be on your desktop instead.
