The Aussies will score about 440, leaving England 150 behind. We will be all out for 175 with the Aussies winning by 10wkts.

Have you ever seen a worse England tail with our 8,9,10 & 11:102:

Have you ever seen a worse England tail with our 8,9,10 & 11:102:

Mullally, Tufnell, Giddins, Caddick.

Broad has a definite advantage if he can get some runs early in the season. He needs to persuade Tim Boon to bat him at 7 or 8.

I didn't think Caddick was the worst tail-ender we have had.:102:

Did those 4 play together in a test?. Btw i agree with Tufnell and Giddens:) .

They played together on more than one occasion I think, but definitely in 1999:

Completely agree about Caddick but Harmison, Panesar and Mahmood have far more to them than Tufnell (test average 5.1), Mullally (5.5) and Giddins (2.5) did.

The tail is important to an extent but it wouldn't be an issue if our top 7 was scoring the runs it should be. Perhaps we need a number 8 who can score the odd 20 or 30 but that wouldn't make a huge difference in the grand scheme of things.

Firstly, I think we need to get rid of Read and Jones, neither are test quality. The argument about which one should play for England has been going on for too long, they are both inept. We need a keeper who can score runs, simple as.

Secondly, it wouldn't help to have some experience in the top order somewhere! We've suffered badly from losing Vaughan and Trescothick and we've asked players with not a lot of experience to take on the best team in the world. Looking at the Australian team they have Langer, Ponting, Gilchrist and Hayden who have all played 90 or more tests!

Thirdly we just need the players we select to score runs once in. Anyone can get out for a low score but our players get a start but can't seem to go on and get the big scores that matter!

Lee and Warne were classed as all-rounders because of their plus 30 batting average.

Dizzy Gillespie got a double ton against Bangladesh.
Warne has the third most ducks in test cricket. McGrath is second in the list! Clark looks like a slogger. Lee can bat a bit though.

Another problem we have is that we are notoriously bad at bowling to tail enders. Its been the case for a few years now, remember how much difficultly we had with SL at Lords. That was ridiculous.
