It's doubtful that this year's trip will involve a friendly match as the Slovenian season begins on 18th July. I posted on the NK Olimpija Postojna (the team we played against a year ago) message board on Monday evening but have not so far had a reply

I can't honestly see what difference a half-pace friendly would add to a well organised training week.

I can't honestly see the difference between a well organised training week in Slovenia and a well organised training week in Leicester. Apart from the fact that flying the squad out and paying for them to stay in Slovenia for a week would be a waste of cash.

Most clubs go away pre-season. It's not just about the training, it's about the players getting to know each other, they'll have much more of a bond being together for for a few days in a foreign country than they would if they just spent a few hours on the training ground.

You're right about the bonding, it's just my frugal side coming out, shame we can't go somewhere where we can have a few money spinning friendlies at the same time and get a percentage of the gate.
