Leicester City supporters will be able to see their side lift the League One trophy following the Scunthorpe United match at the Walkers Stadium on Friday, April 24.

The Foxes secured the title following their 2-0 victory over Southend United at Roots Hall on Saturday.

And the City faithful can celebrate promotion back to the Championship with their fellow supporters along with what looks set to be a sell out crowd.

Chairman Milan Mandaric said: "The supporters of this football club have been to the depths of despair and they deserve this promotion. They have stuck with us through thick and thin and I am so pleased that we have achieved our goal for them.

"We have now got a great chance to celebrate following the game against Scunthorpe on Friday evening. It would be fantastic to play in front of a full house at our home."

And boss Nigel Pearson echoed his Chairman's sentiments.
He added: "I am so pleased that we have done this on our own terms. We knew that we had to come to Southend to get a victory and we have done that.

"We now aim to put on a show for the fans when we take on Scunthorpe at the Walkers Stadium next week. I'm sure it will be a fantastic evening for everyone."

Same line up apart from howard back in the side, 3-0 city for or last home game in this league .

Would like to see some of the younger players (Chambers and co.) on the bench rather than the old heads who are unlikely to play a part next year (Dickov, Hayles etc)

I disagree. I think that those who have played their part, and may be 'surplus to requirements' for next season, should have a celebratory run-out on the last home game. They've deserved it.

And then, new season,new start.

But let's say goodbye to the good old boys in style, eh? :)

The youngsters can go to Crewe. Friday should have Dickov, Hayles and Powell on the bench. They have played an important part including the help, advice and inspiration they have given to the youngsters this year.

YES!!!! And all the other old-timers. Bench or field. They did us proud. Let's honour them, and say goodbye.

Similar team(except Howard), no players on the bench who will not be with us next season(eg Baz Dickov)id get every proffessional we have involved Im going for a 2-0 win Howard King

Don't care about the score. Crewe and Scunny will be a party regardless!! Actually I would like to win 3-0. I don't like Scu nthorpe glanford park is awful. So lets mess up their promotion hopes.

How come the match is on a friday night but it's not on tv????

Can't wait for this one. It may be the mongie in me but I can't wait to see the new kit!

I now wonder whether it is going to happen. Apparently the decision (and perhaps the kit) is still to be made.

I don't think we'll be seeing the new kit, i'm sure the website would have mentioned it at least 10 times within the last week if we were going to see it.
