Even if the League Cup were to be scrapped, there is no way for the extra games to be squeezed into the season for a 20-team Premier League.

I'd expect an "opt-out" for Champions League teams re: League Cup.

Beyond that, we will see expanded squads, which the big clubs can afford and the others can't, creating more of a closed shop.

As the round of 16 will be scrapped, by my reckoning the eventual finalists will only need to play two extra games. Going to be a lot of pretty meaningless games taking place.

agreed the premier league will come under pressure to reduce the domestic games in order to fit in the group matches

Why can't we just let the big boys (and Man City) **** off and have their own Euro league. I'd much rather watch us battling West Ham, Everton, Arsenal, Newcastle, Leeds etc week in week out and let them grow tired of trying to create fake rivalries against Barca n that.

It was tongue in cheek, as its widely known that the €500 note was mainly used for criminal activities, the weight of 1 million euros in €500 notes is only 4.4lbs where as the weight of 1 million dollars in $100 dollar bills is 22lbs.
