Anyone see Newswipe last night? First one of the series. I'm a big fan of his, even when he's not funny he still tends to be interesting and clinical.

Didn't even know it was back on.
Thank Christ they repeat programmes endlessly, one of best TV series of the last decade.

Fantastic programme. Tim Key's poems have me in stitches.

Just after watching the repeat, pure class.
I wish it was on every day. I further wish that viewing was compulsory for everybody, under pain of death.

The American comedians rant was pure class.

And this exchange:-
Reporter: 'What dya think of this weather? Running out of gas, tough driving conditions, food storages.'
Random Guy: 'couldn't care I am here playing with my kids.'

I got a couple of Doug Stanhope stand-up albums on MP3 a while back I didn't really like them, but people reckon he got better as his career went on and those were 2 of hid first shows.

'Indoor gritting depots, outdoor gritting depots, bright gritting depots, dark gritting depots, maned gritting depotd, un-maned gritting depots, sexy gritting depots....'

Anyone ever read Dawn of the Dumb?

Great stuff.

What channel is this on? Hated the fact Screenwipe was on BBC4 as I had feck all idea the programme existed until about series four or something

All of the Screenwipe & Newswipe episodes are available for download from certain websites

Good again last night, slightly more informative than funny as he didn't have much to go at from the last week.

I'm now becoming obsessed with this trying to go back and watch older episodes. I've always ignored this programme because somehow I had got Charlie Brooker mixed up in my head with Stewart Lee who I can't stand.

I know we've already covered this subject in other threads, but I just can't resist pointing out that he's about as funny getting your cock caught in the zip of your flies

I love Charlie Brooker, always makes me laugh. Loved his criticism yesterday of a five news report - 'this is a bit like watching a play written by a dog'.

I love Stewart Lee, his vomiting in Jesus' arsecrack from 90s Comedian is about the funniest thing I have ever seen. I laughed so hard it hurt for about 20 minutes striaght.

That comedy vehicle thing he did last year was shite though, it just seemed like all his discarded b-material to me.
