That was the 2nd goal no? Where VAR had a look and saw nothing to quibble about?

If the ref was doing a bit of grandstanding then whatever but if the decision was the right one then end of story? And I ain't no ManCity fan believe me... but maybe more of one than a shithouse, negative, play-for-penalties Everton fan.

He emphatically threw his arms to show he'd given advantage once the goal went in. Should referees start doing similar when a pen they've given correctly is converted? Refs shouldn't be celebrating goals or getting decisions correct.

It was theatrical, I'll give you that! Takes his job seriously probably.

I thought he was about to take a dump. He certainly assumed the position.

Man City make 8 changes from the side that won at Dortmund... eight. They're obviously not taking this competition seriously

And Chelsea field Chilwell... they're obviously not taking this competition seriously ;)

Chelsea. The possibility of the UAE winning a quadruple will be at fever pitch otherwise, we've probably get a marginally better chance against them, and if worse comes to the worse at least we didn't lose to them the last time we got to the final

Cagey but somewhat dull. Both sides looking classy in patches, with maybe Man City looking the more assured/likely.

So little of note in that first half to talk about that they're sticking in some alan partridge adverts

Commentator: 'Whichever of these two teams wins will be the favourite in the final'
Keown: 'The overiding favourite'

****s.

Keown has just said that the winner of this one will be the “overriding favourites” for the final.
Favourites probably, but overriding??

It's true, although that's partially down to mug punters backing 'big clubs' against little old Leicester, I expect the odds on offer if we make it to be a real value bet
