England's Football League clubs have agreed new rules on the number of "home-grown" players in their squads.
From next season, clubs will have to name 10 "home-grown" players in a squad restricted to 25 players aged over 21.

Other rule changes include clubs, who will be able to include as many players under the age of 21 in their squads as they like, being hit with a transfer embargo if they do not file their financial accounts at Companies House in time.

Will this apply to us as we were late with 08/09 accounts??

I don't think they would apply the punishment retrospectively. If they did I'm sure clubs affected by it would challenge it in the courts and the league wouldn't have a chance of winning.

I agree.
We now need to make sure that the 09/10 accounts are finished and filed in good time, no matter how embarassing they may be. Not that I think they will be of course.

Well, I'm a bit busy this week, to be honest, but I could spare a few hours week after next.

this is a good rule for us cos:-

1) most of our players are home grown
2) we have an excellent academy
3) this raises prices of home grown players
4) it causes trouble for relegated premiership clubs
