At the junction with High Road Leyton bare right on to this road. Continue along this road for approx 1.5 miles. Turning right down Balmoral Road/Osborne Road or Buckingham Road will all lead you to Brisbane Road.

The Grounds Guide suggests there is some street parking available. However please make sure you read all of the parking signs as some resident permit parking may be in operation.

One alternative for people driving would be to use the parking facility at Stanmore and tube it in from there. Details in the section below.

Trains:

All of the very cheap singles have now gone. The cheapest advance singles I can find are £11 going and £14 coming back. You will need to book on to the 12noon from Leicester arriving London at 1.15pm in order to get the £11 fare. Alternitavely £14 singles are available on earlier trains. Coming back, £14 singles are currently available on 17.55 and 18.00 services.

The closest tube station to the ground is Leyton. This is a 6 or 7 minute walk from the ground. You will need a Z1-4 travelcard (£5.90). From Kings Cross St Pancras take the Piccadilly Line towards Rayners Lane/Heathrow/Uxbridge or Northfields. Get off at Holborn. From here take the Central Line towards Newbury Park/Epping/Hainault or Loughton. Get off at Leyton. The journey is just under 30 minutes.
(Circle Line and Hammersmith & City Line are closed between Kings Cross StP and Liverpool Street)

*From Stanmore: Take the Jubilee Line towards Canary Wharf or Green Park. Get off at Bond Street. From here take the Central Line towards Newbury Park/Epping/Hainault or Loughton. Get off at Leyton. The journey is just over 1 hour. You will need a Z1-6 travelcard (£7.00)

For any further help with the tube, see here.

Pubs:

As with any ground in London, pubs are pretty much everywhere. The Ground Guide doesn't recommend anywhere in particular, so I shall leave that bit to our resident ale expert 'Real Sharapova' :icon_wink

It's about time people got an Oystercard. No queueing for tickets - and brings the return fare to Leyton from both these origin points down to just £4.

its also often worth leaving St Pancras and heading up Euston Road to Euston Square station as hardly anyone uses it in comparison to the 6 weeks you'll be queing at St Pancras tube. Metropolitan line to Liverpool St, into Wetherspoons and then you're pissed by 8am....smashing. Central line to the Chinese and back to Liverpool St to drink some more, London games are great.

See above - The Circle and Hammersmith & City lines are closed on the day of the game; the Metropolitan line will therefore not be operating east of Baker Street. There will be no direct trains from Kings Cross StP or Euston Square to Liverpool Street.

Good advice at other times though.

A practical alternative if you do want to visit Hamilton Hall (the Wetherspoons on Liverpool Street station) would be to take the Northern Line (City Branch) from Euston or Kings Cross StP to Moorgate. From there to Liverpool Street is an easy 5-minute walk.

cheers Bob, didn't read the bit about the tube (we arrive at 6am so could probably walk it) appreciated tip on getting to Spoons

I forgot to add in the 1st post, that groups of 3 or 4 can group save between Leicester and London. This is achievable by splitting your journey, but staying on the same train.

The train from Leicester must call at Kettering and Bedford and the same on the way back to Leicester.

In order to take advantage of this deal, you will need to buy a Group Save CDR for 3 or 4 between Leicester and Kettring > Kettering and Bedford and Bedford and London. The total cost will be £68.60.

£17.15 if 4 travel or £22.86 if 3 travel. These tickets can be purchased on the day of the game or in advance. You are now also able to buy these tickets via most of the online train company websites.

As the tickets are CDR's, you can catch any train as long as you travel together and the train stops at both Kettering and Bedford in both directions.

*Thanks to Boc for reminding me the cheaper split is at Kettering at not Market Harborough.

Durham and I shall be training it down to the smoke for this one. If there are 2 others out there who fancy coming on the train and saving money with Group Save then PM me.

To put this in to context, it would cost you £45+ each as a walk up on Saturday as opossed to £17 if 4 of us travel together (don't worry you can ditch us once we get there)

... as long as they meet up with you again for the journey back.

It would cost £34.30 using the same ticket splits you'd be using for the Groupsave tickets.

Fair point, but still double what they could pay. Duzza and I are not that bad .... surely :icon_eek:
