Money Spent on Leicester City

I only go to a limited number of away games, but I hesitate to think how much I have spent over the years considering I first started going in 1944 under my own steam since 1947........ it do'es not bear thinking about

Blimey who used to police it, Bomber command:icon_razz

Very little - LCFC World subscription and that's about it. But if we somehow get to Wembley then it's going to cost me a fecking arm and a leg.

Thought about working it out but it got to frightening. Have 5 ST for the family, travel from Nottingham for us all, food , drink and merchandise. On top of that we attend a fair amount of away games as well. When I think that I have been doing this since early fifties and adding the family along the way in time to the cost, I don't want to add it all up as it may give a heart attack.

A trip to see B.Dortmund v E.Frankfurt (962 miles round trip) - £116 (2 day and 1 night stay, return flights to Luton)

A trip to see Plymouth A v Leicester City (484 miles round trip) - on Fox Travel £81 on train £154.50

Not right is it?

:icon_eek: finally coming out the closet Hazz? You are welcome to join the fold;)

luckily i only have an 80 mile round trip to go see the plymouth game:038: unluckily i have a 404 mile round trip to go see any home game:mad:

the lengths some people will go to for LCFC :icon_lol:
On balance though, one trip from here to Wembley every ten yers is still going to be cheaper than getting a season ticket every year like I used to.

On the other hand, I haven't even been to a game in over a year, so I do feel a bit short changed!

I also read an article today on how heavily debt financed clubs are nowadays (eg the Glazers) and could be hit pretty bad by this so called credit crunch. Spurs owner lost £500m in the bear sterns collapse the other day.

It's you that's not right if you would pay £154.50 train fare to get to Plymouth - the cheapest Advance Single is only £16

Food & Drink at home games (£20 beer + £10 food) 20ish x £30 = £600

That includes [...] food, beer...

... matchday food/drink,

... food etc on the day.

... plus a rough estimate of how much I spent each match day-food drink etc etc.

... food , drink ...

Why do people so often include the cost of food and drink in this calculation? Is it because they would be going hungry and thirsty if they had stayed at home?

The question was related to the money spent on Leicester City and not on how much it costs to fill your face. The only food and drink money that can reasonably be added in is that which is spent at the bars and kiosks at the ground - and if you're daft enough to pay those prices, you obviously have enough money not to have to care what you're spending on Leicester City.

I noticed tickets for away fans (so presumably the cheapest in the ground) at tomorrow's Man Utd v Bolton match are £39. Not surprisingly the away end isn't sold out and tickets will be available on the night.

Do we really want to get promoted?

As i said earlier there is going to be plenty of empty seats next season around the country. Imo the' happy hour ' for football clubs is over. They have probaly become complacent in thinking that the punters will pay just about anything to watch their beloved teams. Imo though a rude awakening is on the cards . Next season they are going to have to do a lot more to get people to turn up judging by the way people are struggling with fianances

The sad thing is that if the whole game was financed in a sensible fashion, the money that is earned from the TV companies would be enough to enable fans at all 92 clubs to be let in for free. Just the rise in TV fees in recent years is a greater amount than all the ticket money put together. The amount of money swilling around in the game is ridiculous - yet the Rotherhams of the game go bust - ridiculous!!

Because most people on this forum would be paying 7p for a flat 2ltr bottle of cola and 13p for a block of cheese from Aldi whilst stopping at home on a Saturday afternoon.

At the ground, you are going to have to pay the higher price.
