Rangers have rejected a £6.5 million bid for striker Nikica Jelavic.

STV understands a firm offer has been tabled by the Championship club, who are managed by former England boss Sven Goran Eriksson, but the offer has been dismissed by the SPL champions.

Don't believe for a second that an offer of this magnitude would have been rejected by them had it really been made.

1. It gives them credit with their own fans if they reject a bid
2. There's other interested parties who who could afford to spend more, in this case a Russian club.
