How can i sit if the rows in front of me are standing? What choice do i have? There are areas at the walkers where the fans already stand throughout the game. Move to there!

You have just highlighted for me the reason or one of them, as to why designated standing areas should return.

Do you honestly think if they introduced standing they would put it infront of a seating area?

The point is if you want to sit and have an unobscured view you will be able to because the standers will be in a designated area.

That = choice

People will always want to stand, so it's in everyone's interest to have properly designed safe standing areas.
It means those who stand anyway will be safer, and those who don't want to stand won't have to put up with people standing in front of them.

but can you see it happening? it was always used as an excuse for the deaths of many, i can't see them turning round and saying "well standing is actually safe, it was the fault of scousers and officials" and going back on all they have done

But if they're so convinced that standing really is unsafe they'd have banned it at lower division grounds, rugby, concerts etc.

There's nothing unsafe about well designed terracing areas that are used properly. In some situations it's safer than seating. Standing in proper standing areas is certainly safer than standing in seated areas, which is what we get at the moment.

No one is arguing for the right to stand anywhere inside a stadium.

Your "choice" would be to sit in a designated seated area, munch your sandwich and leave as usual 10 minutes before the final whistle in order to avoid the excessive traffic. (Obstructing the views of many as you push past).

My choice, if I had one, would be to legally stand in a designated area just like I used to before standing areas were declared more dangerous than rottweillers, ecstasy and being taken on holiday by Mrs & Mrs McCann put together.

The argument is that seeing as terracing has single-handedly failed to kill anyone since 1985 it might not be a bad idea to allow clubs the right to reintroduce it if they see fit. The clubs would see fit if there were to be a demand for such areas and if there were a perceived benefit to the team in terms of improved atmosphere.

No doubt you are already penning a post complaining that you choose to sit in a ground resembling a morgue.

Relax Nathan - just as I don't want to stand in front of you or make you stand...neither do I want to force you to vocally support my team either.

paraphrasing Goldie Lookin Chain:-

standing don't kill people
scousers do
i saw it on a documentary on bbc2

something i have never understood as well, unless they think its perfectly fine to die if you support a league one side but not the premiership big boys. making it even more obvious that safety is not the reason but the excuse

The fact i prefer to sit than stand gives you **** all reason to question my support. who do you think you are? Just because you like to stand there in your stone island jumper, nike air max and burberry cap screaming your beer-breathed obsceneties at the opposition fans/players/ref, doesn't make you a better supporter than me. Cock
