Has anyone done the uphill gardener joke yet?
 
Gardening is all about life, and it teaches you lessons about human life too. Yeah, honest, don't laugh. There's a wonderful parody of this in the film 'being there' (one of my favourite films) in the character 'chancey gardener' (peter Sellers), but there are, actually, very real lessons to learn. In addition, the time for reflection in the context of being close to nature, is priceless.
As long as you are in touch with the real world and real people, gardening does a lot for the mind & the spirit. As for the body, tbh, it gives me backache. Apart from that, I love it.

I picked up all the burnt out fireworks of my garden today.
 
I like a good wank during a firework show too.
