Im going to try and win £1000 on the national but also have a back up plan so im not left out of pocket.

Its looking like a 3 horse race this year.

Dun Doire 10-1 £100 bet

numbersixvalverde, point barrow 12-1 £10 bet

Hedgehunter 14-1 £10 bet

If the favourite romps home its £980 up, however if one of the other 2 favourites cross the line first i will get my £120 stake back and a few quid beer money.

Or they could all fall at the first but i think its a fairly decent bet.

A few years back, I paid serious attention to reading form etc., kept abreasted of everything.

Monty Pass came in on 16-1.

It's very rare that I fail to pick a horse that doesnt finish in the Top 5 for the Grand National. However, I normally put it in to win and have some no-hoper on an each-way.
