The guy is an absolute genius and I would say comfortably that he is the best naturally gifted player that I have ever seen don the beautiful Royal Blue of our Beloved Leicester City.

I hope with all my heart he stays with us and doesn’t fly the nest, perhaps the new and invigorated style that Puel has introduced willl convince him to stay and perhaps with that we can push on?

He is a genius, a natural beautifully balanced player the likes of which grace King Power all too frequently.

I marvel at his vision, football intelligence, low centre of gravity and the beautiful way he “glides” across the turf. On his day he is unplayable - on a bad day he is above average.

One thing is for certain - without him we are a poorer team, he can do as no other.

Riyad Mahrez I SALUTE YOU.

It's hilarious to watch the defenders trying to dispossess him sometimes.

I was disappointed with him last season but he has been closer to his best this season, and there are few players as good on the ball as him in the league.

I went to a game last year and a LOT of fans were giving Riyad stick at the time.

Ingrates. A genius, the best to ever wear the shirt, I’ll be absolutely gutted when he leaves and will HATE watching him play against us.

He was absolutely dog bob last season though (as were most the team to be fair).

I think one of my favourite non-goal scoring moments was when he was attacking and turned so quickly that he left 2 or 3 defenders on the floor.

Can’t remember who it was against though?

Justified, along get with any stick the rest of them were getting.

Glad he's getting back to his best.

i struggle to come up with a solid reason why he might stay. family pressure? ie wife/kids settled, wants to play every week
i wont begrudge him a move just hope we get a good price and he goes abroad

The fact that we are going to ask for an awful lot of money and teams may be reluctant to pay. I think the £50 million tag may have gone up a little after Van Dijk's transfer.

Could he price himself out of a move by becoming too good??
Not really, market forces dictate his market rate. I think £50 million is a bargain as he has now proved he can produce the goods over multiple seasons. If Van Dijk is £75 million, Mahrez is cheap.

He's only worth what someone will pay for him. Van Dijk had two more years left on his contract than Riyad so that also reflects in the price, he's also had a drop in form although has shown an upturn recently. I reckon, despite the £50m price tag, if someone stumps up £40m he'll go.

At £40 million we make a small profit of £39.6 million!

A healthy profit indeed, however, profits don't score goals. He is (arguably) one of the most creative players ever seen in a City shirt and we are nowhere near as good when he's not playing.
